My updated life.

Well, I finished nursing school in Aug. passed my boards in Oct. and have been working ever since! I was working evening shift until last week and now I am on night shift. Evening shift was not for me!!! My sleep pattern was so messed. I would work till 11:30pm come home and be wide awake until about 2-3 in the morning and then back up @ 7am to get the kids ready for school. After sending them off to school I would crash on the couch and sleep till 11:30 or noon. Then leave for work again about 2:15pm...didn't leave much time to do things around the house or to spend time with my family. So far night shift is working out so much better! I come home and go to sleep while they are at school and greet their beautiful faces when they get off the bus in the afternoon. Usually helping with homework, getting baths, and selecting clothes for the next day is not all that fun...sometimes I would rather walk over hot coals or gouge my eyes out than to help with such simple task that turn so ugly. It's the little things like that, that you miss when your not around. You take all the drama for granted and you miss it....just a little bit! Another bonus...I won't have to miss any softball or tee ball games...YAY! I don't know how things are going to play out when the kids go on summer break...I'll never be able to sleep!

Over the past year my style has changed a little too. I am a pinterest junkie and love getting all kinds of ideas. I still like antiques but I like to mix new with the old for that eclectic style...the lived in, cozy, kick your feet up kinda style. Here are a few examples...

Hope you have enjoyed my update and this little bit of eye candy...until next time! Adios :)

I'm back....and with a few projects!

Well, let me just start off by saying...This past year has been the most difficult of my life! I finished nursing school and I am waiting to take my state boards, so while I wait I have time to catch up on some crafting! YAY!!! I forgot how much fun it was! I was in desperate need of things for the yard for fall...and since I'm still a broke student I had to make my own! I had 2 small scrap sections of a privacy fence left over so I put it to good use!

I made a fence, 2 pumpkins, and a scarecrow face. I think they turned out pretty good and cost ZERO dollars...right up my alley! I love FALL, it's my favorite season. I would be perfectly happy if it was fall all year long...and so would my husband. He loves to bow hunt!

I'd like to share one last thing. I was looking through a magazine the other day and saw a picture of a basket of apples. I fell in love with that picture UNTIL I looked at the price tag...$289 ZOINKS! So, I thought it was just a basket of apples. How hard could it be? Harder than it looked that was for sure! But here is what I ended up with.

In closing let me just say, I'm glad to be back! I hope you enjoyed the projects I shared and I plan on sharing more projects with you soon.
Thanks for stopping by!

In Rememberance...

Yesterday the heavens received a new angel...my Great Grandpa died at the age of 99. He has lived a very full life filled with a loving family by his side. Up until about 6 months ago he lived at home and came and went as he pleased. He has touched so many lives especially mine. He was the kindest, most tender loving man I knew. He raised a garden every year, picked berries, grew dahlias (they were his mothers favorite), did wood working projects, and he had a way with animals! I have never meet another person to have such a connection with animals as he did. On some level I do believe he was a dog whisperer. His body was failing but his heart was still going strong...it was just a matter of time. We knew his time on earth was coming to an end and in his finals days it was hard to watch him slip away. We wanted him to be at peace and let go...but even so when it happened it hit me like a Mack truck that he was gone. It doesn't matter how old the person is or weather you see death coming or not...it is so hard letting go of a person that means so much to you!

I will not be filled with deep sadness today. I will remember not your parting but instead will celebrate the life, love and happiness we shared. Rest in Peace Grandpa, you will be dearly missed!

Happy HALLOWEEN!

Just wanted to stop in and say "Happy Halloween!" I so badly miss not chatting with all my primitive friends, I started nursing school a little over a month ago and it's been a BIG adjustment for my family and I. I'm really starting to have the primitive blues. I miss chatting with everyone and seeing all the wonderful creations and most of all I'm having Prim Swap withdrawals...I really enjoyed reaching out and connecting with so many of you. Please don't forget about me and hopefully someday when I'm a nurse I can reach out connect again with my prim buddies!
Take care ALL!

Thank You Kim!

I just wanted to shout out a BIG thank you to Kim (the prim schoolmarm). She was my partner in Char's Summer time swap. She sent me some WONDERFUL stuff! I love it all! I will post pics as soon as I can.

Sorry it as been such a long while since my last post. I currently don't have internet at my home so I just have access when I visit my mom. Home life has been pretty difficult lately. My husband started his new job as a correctional officer at a maximum security prison and he hates it. Finances are still a strain and there seems to be no end in sight. I try to look for the silver lining, but I think it has fizzled out.
I hope everyone is kicking off their summer this weekend and enjoying time with friends and family!

Have a GREAT one!
Happy Memorial Day!
