I am a new sewer so I don't know much about it. My mom came over to help and we can't get it so I need your help! If you can help in any way I would appreciate it!

One of My "Other" Passions
My oldest daughter turned 8 yesterday...my how time flies! I get so caught up in the hustle and bustle with the daily chores, preparing meals, homework, all the things that mommy's do I forget to treasure each and every day with my kids. They grow up so fast!
Now onto my other passion. I love photography! I have been looking into taking some classes, trying to find a photography club or something to help me gain the knowledge I need to pursue this hobby. I just like taking pictures and with the right knowledge I think I could be pretty good. I would ultimately love to do photography and prims to help bring in some $$. I have talked with a photgrapher that I met via her blog and she was self taught and has encouraged me to persue more. I just need to learn the know-how and practice...practice...practice! Not to mention buying an AWESOME camera. Hopefully I can stay focused and make this a reality! Here a few of pics of my kids that I took thiss past summer and fall.
As you look at the pictures please don't judge too harshly, just remember I am not a pro. I just like pretty pictures!

Vday Label and a little chat
Hello Ladies!
I wanted to pass along a Valentines Pantry Jar Label to everyone. I have been working on all kinds of labels lately. I kinda like it. I'm only using MS word...I would LOVE to get one of the new photoshop programs. I would be in front of the computer all day!
I got to go to a couple of TS on Monday. I went to 2 GW's and struck out...nothing! Then I went to Salvation Army and got a few things. I will have to show pics at a later time...my camera needs new batteries. It eats them...I go thru so many batteries!
I have entered a couple of swaps lately so I've been busy working on all of those goodies. I am learning how to use the sewing machine and how to embroider. My mom is teaching me. We live 1/2hr from each other so finding time that we are both available and good weather, well let's just say it's been a slow process. I hope to get the hang of it. Seeing all these wonderful goodies everyone is making lately is inspiring me and making me a little jealous! Keep up the good work ladies!
Lastly, I would like to post an email that was forwarded to me this morning.
Have a GREAT Day!

Burnt Biscuit
When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work.
On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!
When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he said: "Honey, I love burned biscuits."
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"
Life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else. But what I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each others faults - and choosing to celebrate each others differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.
And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!
We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship!
"Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket - keep it in your own."
God Bless You....... Now, and Always....
So Please pass me a biscuit, and yes, the burnt one will do just fine.!.!.!.! And PLEASE pass this along to someone who has enriched your life... I just did.

Jar Labels and Valentine Tree
The past two weeks has been COLD. I have lived like a hermit! I am officially going stir CRAZY! I had planned on going to GW yesterday (since it's been ages) but the kids didn't have school AGAIN. I have been looking at all the GREAT finds everyone has been getting at GW lately and I started *jonesin real bad. Tomorrow is the day I go to GW...no stopping me! Being cooped up is for the birds! I made myself a little Valentine tree, since I had nothing prim for Valentines Day. It turned out really cute. I wish the pic of it did it justice. I've also been busy creating pantry jar labels so I thought I'd share a few with my fellow bloggers. Hope you enjoy!
*A word used to describe an intense craving for a [drug]..lol... GW a drug?

Another snow day with the kids....and a few faux samplers.
We are snow day #2. The kids have been to school 1 time since Christmas break. We are expected to get 2-6 inches of snow tomorrow so I don't think the will go back the rest of the week. I will have to look through my books and find a kid friendly craft to occupy their time or it will be a very long week! Yesterday I wanted to try my hand at making faux samplers. I thought it should be pretty easy. Easier said then done! With the kids on a snow day...I was trying to make these little boogers while refereeing fights and fixing lunch and it was not an easy task! But here they are. Not too bad for my first try.
Thanks for looking and I hope everyone has a Happy Hump Day!

Happy New Year Everyone!
2009 has been a hard year! I look forward to what 2010 holds...hope it's a GREAT year for everyone! I just wanted to share a couple of pics.
The top of my fridge and the front of my kitchen island
This past summer I painted the front of my kitchen island. It is a bit darker and prim looking in person the flash of the camera brightened it up. I took scrap 1x2s imperfections and all...removed some nails and used finishing nails and attached them to my island and painted away! I love how it turned out!
I hope to share more with all of my prim friends this year. This is just the beginning.
Have a GREAT Monday!
